The book tells the journey Greg Mortenson takes as he sets out to build schools in the mountainous areas of Pakistan to educate not only the boys, but also the girls in a Muslim country. Mortenson's belief is that as he reaches out to educate these children, they will not be as open to recruitment into the Taliban. He moves on after Afghanistan's war to build schools there.The dedication that Mortenson and his family makes is inspiring. If more of us were willing to step outside of our comfort zone...
