Welcome

We would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to our new blog! Friends of the Daingerfield Public Library is only two years old. Formed in 2006, we have had a great first two years. Paperwork was completed and submitted to the IRS, which then granted our 501c3 non-profit status. We have also completed all the necessary paperwork with the State of Texas which granted us our corporation status as well as tax exempt capabilities.

To date, we have two annual fund-raisers. We celebrate Daingerfield Days in October by selling soft drinks and water. (Really we see friends in town whom we haven't seen in 'decades'!) Every March around St. Patrick's Day, we have our annual Book Sale. We have been extremely pleased with the funds we have received during those two days.

We are in the process of typing recipes for a community cookbook. Our goal of 500 recipes has almost been achieved. We hope to have it to the publisher and back by Daingerfield Days October 2008.
